What it costs to heat a 70 m² house
At the start the calculator assumes a house insulated after 2000 with hot water for four people. Such a house needs about 10,600 kWh of heat a year, 3,600 kWh of it for hot water. A heat pump then costs about 3,150 PLN a year and a gas boiler about 3,459 PLN.
In a small house hot water is about a third of the total demand, so enter the real number of people. A new 70 m² house built to WT 2021 with two people needs about 6,000 kWh: about 1,783 PLN a year with a heat pump and about 6,240 PLN with electric heaters.
The calculator leaves out fixed charges. With consumption this low, the fixed part of a gas bill is a bigger share of the total than in a large house.
