10 kWp solar system: cost and payback
The calculator starts from a 10 kWp system in a house with a heat pump that uses about 7,433 kWh of electricity a year. The saving is about PLN 4,417 a year. At PLN 5,600 per kWp the system costs PLN 56,000 and pays back in about 12.7 years, but at this size quotes are often cheaper per kWp.
Example: 10 kWp, the house uses 7,433 kWh a year
Simple payback: about 12.7 years
saves about PLN 4,417 a yearabout PLN 368 a monthcost after relief and grants about PLN 56,000
- Used straight away: 2,230 kWh, 22%
- Exported: 7,770 kWh, 78%
Power you do not buy: about PLN {avoided}. The deposit for exported energy covers about PLN {deposit} of your bills.
Cumulative balance over 25 years
After 25 years: about PLN 44,638
With degradation and upkeep the balance turns positive for good after about 14.2 years.

Assumptions and formulaElectricity price from 11 October 2026
output = 10 kWp × 1,000 kWh = 10,000 kWh used on site = 2,230 kWh, exported = 7,770 kWh, bought = 5,203 kWh saving = 2,230 kWh × PLN 1.04 + deposit PLN 2,098 = PLN 4,417 a year payback = PLN 56,000 ÷ PLN 4,417 = 12.7 years

How to use the calculator
- Enter your yearly electricity use from the last 12 months of bills. If you plan a heat pump or an electric car, add their use.
- Enter the system size and the price from your quote, per kWp or in total. Below the size you will see the upper limit of a sensible size for your use.
- Choose whether the house has a heat pump. The calculator then estimates self-consumption from our hourly simulation. If you know yours, set it on the slider.
- Check the electricity price and the value of exported energy, pick your thermal modernisation relief rate and add a home battery if you want one.
- Click Calculate payback. The result keeps updating as you change inputs, and you can copy a link to it.
The price of 10 kWp changes the result most
Murator gives PLN 38,000-52,000 for 10 kWp, which is less per kWp than for small systems. At the middle of that range, PLN 45,000, the payback drops from about 12.7 to about 10.2 years. In the calculator, switch the price to total and enter the amount from your quote.
A house with a heat pump uses about 2,230 kWh of the 10,000 kWh output straight away, 22%. The remaining about 7,770 kWh goes to the grid and into the deposit, which you use up in full at this level of consumption.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a 10 kWp solar system cost?
Murator gives PLN 38,000-52,000 with fitting. At PLN 5,600 per kWp, as for smaller systems, it comes to PLN 56,000. Enter your quoted price: at PLN 45,000 the payback in a house with a heat pump is about 10.2 years.
Who should consider a 10 kWp solar system?
Houses that use a lot of electricity: with a heat pump, an electric car or air conditioning. In a house with a heat pump using about 7,433 kWh a year the system saves about PLN 4,417. The 25-year balance, with degradation and an inverter replacement, is about PLN 44,638.
