How to read this chart

The calculator uses 2,330 PLN/t (11 October 2026): a median of producer and depot offers from a price review. The latest point of this series is 2,185 PLN/t (September 2026), the CenaPelletu.pl average of offers. The difference comes from the method: this source's average is consistently below the medians of shop and depot offers.

What this price includes

The price of a tonne of class A1 wood pellets, VAT included, when buying a pallet or a tonne. Single 15 kg bags in DIY stores cost noticeably more.

The series joins three sources, each covering a different period. Each month has one source, shown next to the reading in the table.

Where the data comes from

2019: the average of single-price A1 pellet offers from archived CenyPaliw.eu lists (12 to 59 offers). This is our calculation; the publisher did not publish such an average.

2021 to January 2025: Polish Smog Alert (PAS) reports on solid fuel prices (CEM survey). The average of prices quoted by phone by fuel depots, with delivery up to about 10 km, without the highest and lowest price.

From February 2025: monthly CenaPelletu.pl summaries, the average of about 100-180 producer and distributor offers, usually without delivery.

We do not fill gaps. Before 2025 readings are several months apart, so many of them are single points on the chart rather than a line.

Limitations

  • There is no reading from 2020 and only January from 2021. The 2022 crisis shows in four readings, and the peak may have fallen between them.
  • The source change in February 2025 may lower the series by about 0-6%: in the same months depots with delivery were more expensive than the average of offers.
  • From July 2024 PAS reports take the cheapest certified A1 offer, earlier class I pellets without a certificate requirement.
