Assumptions and formulaPrices from 7 October 2026
Heat demand
Q = 150 m² × 100 kWh/m² + 4 people × 900 kWh = 18,600 kWh
Amount of fuel
m = 18,600 kWh ÷ (7.5 kWh/kg × 0.8) = 3,100 kg
Season cost
3.100 t × 1,600 PLN/t = 4,960 PLN
Heating season month
4,000 PLN ÷ 7 + 960 PLN ÷ 12 = 651 PLN

Tonnes of eco-pea coal for a 100-200 m² house
For houses insulated after 2000, with hot water for four people: 100 m² about 2.3 t (about 3,627 PLN), 120 m² about 2.6 t (about 4,160 PLN), 150 m² about 3.1 t (about 4,960 PLN), 200 m² about 3.9 t (about 6,293 PLN). An uninsulated 150 m² house burns about 5.6 t for about 8,960 PLN.
The calculator uses a calorific value of 7.5 kWh/kg and an auger-fed boiler with 80% efficiency. A tonne of coal gives about 6,000 kWh of heat, and 1 kWh costs about 0.27 PLN. Lower-grade coal with a lower calorific value means burning more of it.
Bags and pallets
PGG sells eco-pea coal in 20 kg bags and on 1 t pallets. The 3.1 t supply for a 150 m² house is about 155 bags, and in full pallets you order 4. Enter the bag weight from another offer in the Bag field.
In a heating season month (e.g. 7 months) a 150 m² house spends about 651 PLN on coal. Before buying a supply for several years, check your region's anti-smog resolution: some of them set deadlines for replacing coal boilers.
