How much does it cost to charge an EV at night on the G12 tariff?
Example: in the G12 night zone in the PGE area (0.6111 PLN/kWh) 100 km costs about 11.83 PLN at 18 kWh/100 km and 7% charging losses. At 15,000 km a year, charging only at home, that is about 1,774 PLN a year, about 148 PLN a month.

grid energy (AC) = 18 kWh ÷ (1 - 7%) = 19.35 kWh/100 km DC charger energy = 18 kWh/100 km cost of 100 km = energy × price of 1 kWh your mix = 100% × 11.83 PLN + 0% × 37.74 PLN + 0% × 48.42 PLN = 11.83 PLN/100 km yearly = 11.83 PLN × 15,000 km ÷ 100 = 1,774 PLN petrol = 7 l × 6.79 PLN/l = 47.53 PLN/100 km

How much night charging saves
The same example on G11 (1.04 PLN/kWh) costs about 3,019 PLN a year. The G12 night zone cuts the charging cost by about 1,245 PLN a year. The car then takes about 2,903 kWh a year from the grid, all of it in the cheaper zone.
The rate of 0.6111 PLN/kWh is the G12 off-peak zone in the PGE area in 2026, gross, with distribution. Other operators have different rates and off-peak hours. Enter the price from your bill in the home electricity price field.
G12 covers the whole house
The G12 tariff applies to the whole meter, not just the car. Electricity used during the day costs more than on G11, so the gain from night charging depends on how much the house uses during the day. The calculator shows the charging cost only.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to charge an EV at night?
In the G12 off-peak zone in the PGE area about 11.83 PLN per 100 km at 18 kWh/100 km and 7% charging losses. At 15,000 km a year that is about 1,774 PLN.
Is it worth switching to G12 with an EV?
Usually yes, if the car charges mostly at night. In the example charging on G12 costs about 1,245 PLN a year less than on G11. Before you switch, also count the dearer day zone for the rest of the house.
